6th Asia Orchid Seminar closed
Guangxi Dendrobium elected as the Sino-US Orchid Ambassador

　　The 6th Asia Orchid Seminar and 2nd Guangxi Orchid International Seminar were held in Nanning on November 2nd 2010. The topic of the Seminar is “the orchid resources conservation and sustainable development---the challenge to the conservation of biodiversity on Yachang Forest Farm and the conservation and cultivation and sustainable utilization of orchid resources”. Chen Zhangliang, a noted biologist and the vice governor of Guangxi Government, Wei Wenbin, the vice secretary general of Guangxi Investment Guiding Commission of Key Town Construction, Wen ShouRong, vice mayor of Nanning City, Wang Jian, vice mayor of Baise City, presented at the seminar chaired by  Chen Qiuhua, the Director of Guangxi Forestry Department.

　　Chen Zhangliang, the vice governor believes that due to thin and weak foundation of technology and lower industrialized degree there is a big gap to the countries in Asia where orchid industry develops greatly even though we have evident advantages of rich orchid resources. The purpose for this seminar is not only to promote the conservation and sustainable development of orchid resources in Asia and improvement of conservation and cultivation of orchid in Guangxi even in the country but also to absorb the men of insight home and abroad, especially the investors who channel world market of orchid industry to develop and utilize the orchid resources in Guangxi by means of this seminar as a platform. In this way it will make a big contribution to the development of flowering industry in the province with sound economic efficiency.

　　A pleasantly surprising news coming from Beijing said that during the 7th China- Asean Expo Miller White, the US President Obama’s economic adviser with his wife, Daimin, was attracted deeply by the medicine orchid--- Dendrobium officinale kimura et Migo in Latin, which is reputed as the “ No.1 of nine fairy herbs in China” while the well-known aweto only ranks the ninth in the list. They contacted the Guangxi departments concerned the same night, discussing on paving the propagation path of how to introduce such a kind of medicine herb to White House, European Ally and the United Nations. And more concentration on the utilization of international flow capital and availability into the market to create a noted world known brand of “Guangxi Fairy Herb” with the help of American experts was carried out. According to Mr. Wei Wenbin, the deputy secretary general of Guangxi Investment Guiding Commission of Key Town Construction and Li Hongxin, the general producer of “China Impact” of CCTV many men  of insight in the US and China and international celebrities have made sustained efforts in various ways to promote the cooperation and communication and peaceful development between two countries. One of the great efforts is to prepare meticulously a program on growth of the rare and precious Guangxi Orchid in the US first family. With the implementation of this program a much-told tale worldwide is being created and the symbol of “diplomatic national orchid” of Guangxi fairy herb specified. With the Sino-US Ambassador of Orchid’s quietly and nobly approaching into the White House a series of economic activities of the US president’s trip to Bama, which have been planned for two years will be strongly promoted. The experts to the seminar thought that so international is the Guangxi orchid program that it will be helpful for the decision-makers of Guangxi authorities to replan best the development of Guangxi orchid industry of long-live bio-ecosystem sphere which covers Donglan County, Bama County, Fengshan County, Dahua County, Tianyang County, Tiandong County and Leye County based on the long-live resources of the worldwide well-known long-live sacred place--- Bama.
