素帕猜：在东西方之间

    2001年11月10日，经过了漫长的13年的谈判，中国终于成为了世界贸易组织当中的一个成员。素帕猜曾任泰国政府副总理，在中国入世后不久成为世界贸易组织新一任总干事。一个是新加入的成员，一个是新上任的总干事，对话从东方开始，但不止于东方。

    China eventually became the member of WTO after 13 years negotiation.The form vite premier of Thailand Supachai was appoinced as the Secretacy General of WTO shortly after china’s entry.Although he is a easterner，the communication never stop within the east.

    “因为我自己的国家——泰国和中国的传统渊源。多年来，有很多的中国人移民到泰国，在我的国家会有血缘的融合，所以在泰国，我们身上都混合了不同的血液，特别是中国的。”

    “我宁愿当你的老师给你打分，而不是给中国的表现打分。作为世界组织总干事，我必须非常中立，尤其是在谈判我们成员的表现方面，实际上我并不应该对成员做这样的评判，因为我要做的仅仅是推动他们的工作。”

    “Because of the long tradition of migration from china to Thailand，people in our nation are of mixed blood，especially Chinese blood.”

    “As the Secretary General of WTO，I have to keep neutral when judging the performance of the members.Actually，this should not be my job because my responsibility is to just promote their work.”
